With The Animals
By talking to Okaa-san about the memories of my previous life, I have a feeling that our bond had further, deepened.
Ever since the day of my first stroll, I came to sleep together with Okaa-san in her bed every night. In bed, Okaa-san hugs me tightly the whole way through. It felt as though I had become a bolster. Although it was slightly embarrassing initially, now, I had gotten completely used to it, and it had ended up becoming a given.
I wonder if this is what you call a ‘mother’s warmth’. I tried scouring the memories of my previous life for an answer, but perhaps it’s because I did my best to seal off those painful memories about my mother in my previous life, I couldn’t quite remember.

I personally also like animals so much that I once aimed to be a vet in my previous life. The next day, we filled a bag with rice, barley, leafy vegetables, and walnut that we got Nina to prepare beforehand and came to the garden.

Both Okaa-san and Nina have smiles. Several birds landed as I was doing such things.

When I placed rice and barley on my palm and stuck it out, they scrambled to peck it.
Before we knew it, around me, Okaa-san and Nina, a ton of rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, weasels, along with wild birds had gathered.
All of them, are each saying something, but I can’t quite hear them because there are a lot of them around, and because they don’t speak clearly like humans, we can’t even have a conversation as long as we don’t talk 1-to-1.
But, they had no wariness towards me, a cosy time went by, and it was enjoyable.
“Tsukuyomi. Times like these are nice huh. Don’t you think that it is therapeutic”
“Eeh, that is true”
The animals didn’t return even after they finished eating, and for some reason, they sat and sprawled around us, relaxing. There were even birds and squirrels that climbed up to my shoulders and head.
I unwittingly looked up at the moons. The sight of two gigantic moons revolving around each other, is something I can’t get used to no matter what.
“Okaa-sama. You let me hear a story about the moons previously, right. You were saying that that was a true story”
“Eeh, I was told that it is something true. But, it seems to be a story over a thousand years ago though”
