All of the students were given 30 minutes of free time and they scattered about. Those who form teams, those who hide, those who practise the Chant for their magic; the way every student spends their time is different.
When it comes to the lonesome Magician……
“Asch……what are you doing?”
Deep inside the forest. He’s drawing various unidentifiable things on the ground.
“Aah! You can’t come in here”
He points a few meters ahead of Liana and holds her back.
“Wh-, why! You’ll definitely be targetted, so form a team with meーー”
“There’s no way I’ll team up, right! Listen up, you and I are enemies. Or rather, you’re a burden. Shoo, shoo……”

The long flax-coloured hair beautiful young girl, who’s clearly treated as a nuisance, makes a sullen look with her cheeks puffed up. ‘Huーmph, I don’t care anymore’, she leaves those overly adorable words behind and briskly leaves.

He sees off her back figure for several seconds, and despite so, he returns to his task right away.
“Fufu……fufufufu……fufufufufufufufufuu”
An ill-natured Magician who, while having delusions about something, is swiftly creating his traps, he is.
On the other hand, Krist starts creating a group. Reader＝Lowe and Buzz＝Lulu. They’re the best three in practical magic. ‘I didn’t think that an opportunity where I can eliminate Asch would come so quickly’, Krist jumps for joy inside his heart. Even if he kills him, he won’t be charged with any crime. It truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity. While smiling in satisfaction inside his heart, he spent his free time assuring the disingenuous bond between his fellow comrades.
And then, there’s another faction. They are, in the middle of the middle even in the class’ hierarchy. Students who possess average capabilities. They, possess decent capabilities, and above all else, they’re proficient at teamwork. That’s how, they traversed this harsh world until now. Team play, is their very weapon. Although only 1 person will become 1st place, if they remain at a high ranking, if they achieve good results in this special lesson, perhaps they might catch Hazen’s eyes. It’s a group that drew such a shallow expectation. They are, extraordinarily quick to come to a consensus, and they spend their time coming up with a strategy. A bunch with little innate talent but is very proficient at executing well-thought-out actions, they are.
While every one of them is passing their time thinking about this and that, there’s a single student who’s single-mindedly at a loss on where to run to. It’s the studious beautiful young girl, Jill. Horribly bad with practical magic and couldn’t get into any group, she’s the so-called hunted side. While bearing such hopelessness, she runs in the forest aimlessly.
“Haa……haa……I, don’t wanna do this anymoree……aaaaaaaaaaah!”
All of a sudden, a jet-black rope wraps around her feet and ties her up tightly, rendering her immobile.
“Kuh……even though it hasn’t been 30 minutes yet. Who is it, who’s the dunce……oh, if it isn’t Jill”
The one who came out from the forest was, Asch.
“Wha-, what’s this!?”
“Fufufu……this is, a trap. I’d set it up ahead of time, thinking something like this will probably happen as well. If it’s just getting it to work, it’s possible even in this short time after all”

Like she gave up, the studious beautiful young girl faces downwards.
“In that case, it’s better to team up with me and be able to get a high rank, right? I can’t yield the first place, but if you do exactly as I say, you can be the second place, you know. It’s a great proposal, right?”

Indeed, she’s probably solidified at the best 5 from the bottom up at this rate. “Ho-, how despicable! Aren’t you forcing me with such a threat?!”
“How you perceive it is your freedom. What are you going to do? Are you going to get done 1 second after starting, or are you going to team up with me and aim for a high rank?”
“U゛ーーーーーーーーーーーーu……I got it! I’ll team up. I’ll team up with you”
The moment Jill gave up and shouted, from afar, the signal for the start of the battle rang.
