Mira carried the unconscious Mira on her back and headed to the infirmary, and on the other hand, Asch returned to where Lioar is.
Because there was already pretty much no time left, a lot of students were lining up to take the Elemental Conversion’s assignment, giving it a try knowing full well that they’ll fail, and Lioar was looking at that with a radiant smile.
“How does it look?”
Asch asks, and Lioar shakes his head.
“The ones who succeeded were Lily=Schwarz and three others”
“Hmm……your students, it looks like they’re slightly inflexible like you. Well, that epitome of inflexibility, Lily, succeeded. I ought to acknowledge her talent”
He expressed his opinion, clapped his hands, and signalled that the test is over.
“Now then, ladies and gentlemen. Everybody is here huh. Let’s go through the answers then, shall we”
Asch shouts, but the expressions of many people are dispirited. In the end, the students that Lily coached fervently didn’t manage to cast it either.
“……err, Asch-sensei. Cis is, still not here though”
Lily raises her hand timidly.
“Her, she started feeling under the weather. Now, Mira is bringing her to the infirmary”
“Eh!?”
“What, are you worried?”
“……no, that is not the”
Lily mumbles and slurs her words.
“What, your usual hypocrisy huh. Cut it out, your worried pretence”
“Guu……”
“Well then, let’s go through the answe――”
“Se, Sensei!”
“What is it! You sure are annoying. You, who are self-centred, may not understand, but lessons are not conducted just for your sake”
“Um……please let me go to the toilet”
At that single sentence, Asch reflexively holds onto his forehead.
“Can you not hold it in?”
“……no”
In response to the coming-of-age girl who hangs her head while blushing,
“Ladies and gentlemen! Lily＝Schwarz-kun feels an unbearable urge to go to the bathroom all of a sudden and will leave the lesson. Now then, Lily＝Schwarz-kun. Take your time”
in a loud voice, Asch shouts in front of the students.

She thanks him while clenching her teeth, and runs off with a mad dash.
“Good grief……now then, let’s go through the answers, shall we. What is, Elemental Conversion. Let’s first unravel it from there”

Elements, they refer to the type of energy the Magic Power emits.
Elemental Magic is represented by the five elements, Wood Fire Earth Metal Water. This relationship is often portrayed with a pentagram(pentacle). And then, there are also researchers who tout that Elemental Magic’s disposition is closer to Dark Magic than Light Magic because the (pentagram)pentacle is frequently used in Demon Summoning and the likes(At the current point in time, categorising it as Light Magic is the mainstream.

Also, it’s known that you would manifest an enormous amount of power in the case that you converted, for example, Fire and Water, that has a conflicting relationship. However, the difficulty and Magic Power is greater than performing an ordinary Elemental Conversion, so the typical view is that it doesn’t have good cost performance.

A student lets out their dissatisfaction.
“Is that so……however, did you people know that you actually possess the means to perform Elemental Conversion easily?”
Asch said, and the students’ gazes focused on him.
“This is……a game I played, in the past. Hey, you. Won’t you come over here?”
Asch beckoned and made the student who voiced their dissatisfaction just now come close to him. He then gently places his palm on the student’s right hand. By the way, it’s a female student.
“Can you release flame at that tree?”
“……I can do that much at least”
Slightly vexed, the student starts the chant for her Magic and draws a seal.

Asch mutters, and the question, ‘How did you do that?’, comes flying from the students.
“As you can see, it is extraordinarily simple. I poured Magic Power directly into her and called upon Water Magic. There’s a knack when it comes to the adjustment of the amount of Magic Power, but it can be done much easier than performing Elemental Conversion alone”
He said, and the surroundings riled up.
“Something like that……was not in the textbook”
Another student said.
“Do you know the Magic that’s in the textbook makes up for how many per cent of the Magic that exists on the continent?”
“……is it about 1 per cent?”
At the answer that was exactly as he predicted, the Dark Magician shakes his head proudly.
“Incorrect. It’s said to be 0.0001 per cent”
He answered, and the students riled up again.
“It’s to the extent that there are also specialists who claim that there exists even more. In other words, it means there’s as many Magic not mentioned in the textbook as there are stars. Well then……you people have probably memorised the Magic’s texts that are in the textbook. How many Magic did you manage to learn in the however many years you spent in the Hogner Magic Academy?”
When Asch says and surveys the surroundings, about half of the students faced downwards. Magic, it first activates through the combination of the chant and the sensation. The process of combining them actually takes quite a bit of effort, so it’s also common that Magicians don’t manage to learn even half of the Magic in the textbook even until graduation.
“Do you understand? If you people want to learn even more Magic, I wouldn’t recommend memorisation”
“In that case……what should we do!?”
A student stood up and shouted irritatedly.
“Who knows. What should you do, go and think about it”
Asch answered with a mischievous smile.
“No, no way!? You are a teacher, right?”
At the student who complains like they’re reproaching him,
“That’s right. I’m a teacher. But, I’m not your mom”
he sealed them with two sentences.
“……”
“The answer that you come up with by yourself, it will be less polished than the answer that already exists. However, it will be more interesting and beautiful than the answer that already exists……『Denier＝Saye』”
“……”
“You people, you have the brain to think by yourself. You have the body to act by yourself. Go and think, and act. And then, please feel free to surprise me”
“……”
The students didn’t say anything. However, Asch’s words undoubtedly captivated them, and they didn’t let a single sentence or word slip.
Before long, Mira came back.
“Welcome back. I wanted you to hear my magnificent lesson as well”
Asch says satisfiedly,
“Is that so. Well, it is futile though”
and Mira mutters expressionlessly.
“Futile? What do you mean?”
“No matter how good of a lecture Asch-sama gave, the affection level towards you will never rise. On the other hand, no matter how lousy of a lecture you give, the affection level towards you will not fall any further”
“……fuu. Your joke cuts deep as usual huh”
Asch, with a trembling hand, started drinking the Darjeeling Mira poured.
