Ball Games Tournament ⑤
〜Yae’s Side〜
“Kazu-kun?”
It was the night the last ball games tournament finished, and Kazu-kun was sleeping on the sofa when I came out from the bath; sleeping safe and sound.
“You’re tired after all huh”
I thought of waking him up at first, but Kazu-kun has finished entering the bath, and the plates and pans have been cleared as well. Furthermore, he did his best today, so I decided to let him sleep as it is.
“Still, it has been a long time since I last saw Kazu-kun’s sleeping face”
I remember seeing it a few times back when we were young, but I couldn’t get to see it recently. Kazu-kun is the one who wakes up first since I’m bad with mornings, and at night, we sleep in our own room as well, so the chances for me to see it diminished.
But when I look at it like this, nothing has changed from when we were young. He’s sleeping with a comfortable look.
“That’s right”
While being careful not to wake Kazu-kun up, I lift his head up. I then sit at the gap that was created and place Kazu-kun’s head on top of my lap.
“Silky hair”
There was a nice comfortable feel and the pleasant scent of the shampoo when I stroked Kazu-kun’s head. Maybe because it feels good, his face also feels more relaxed than before.
“Still, it’s strange”
It warms my heart when I’m stroking Kazu-kun’s head like this. I wonder if it’s because it’s the first time I’m giving him a lap pillow.
But it was different yesterday as well. I should be bothered by the fact that I lost if it was under normal circumstances, and yet the happiness at the fact that Kazu-kun won had dominated my heart.
Uun, not just yesterday, it’s the same during both the sports festival and the tournament as well. Something is different from how it has been thus far.
“It’s fine even if something has changed”
I think there’s probably something about me that changed. I don’t know what it is, but the fact that I love Kazu-kun as a family doesn’t change. That’s why there’s no problem at all.
“Yae……”
I wonder what he’s dreaming about for him to call my name in his sleep. I’m a little bit curious, but I’ll stay like this for now. Let’s let him take his time resting.
“You did great, Kazu-kun”
