Zoo ①
6th of May. Today is the day I go to the zoo with Yae and the others.
“Yaeー. It is about time to go, are you ready?”
“Nn. I’m ready to go”
“Uwaa”
I heard Yae’s response directly behind me when I called out to her while making sure that the windows are shut. I was certain that she is getting ready in her room……I wonder when she got close to me. I did not notice it at all.
“Were you surprised?”
“I was. It was on purpose, huh?”
“Uh-huh”
I am annoyed by the figure of Yae slightly raising the corner of her mouth like she is saying that it went well as she had expected. I shall surprise her next time as payback.
“Leaving that aside, how is it?”
“The outfit? I think it suits you. I don’t remember seeing it, is it newly bought?”
“Yeah”
“Is that so. It really suits you”
Yae, who asked me, is in a white one-piece outfit. Maybe it is because there is a belt, it feels like the skirt portion is even fluffier. I often hear that white depicts a prim and proper image, and there is no doubt that that is exactly so. Today’s Yae is much prettier.
“Are the windows in Yae’s room okay?”
“I’ve closed them properly”
“Let’s go then, shall we. It is just the right time”
It is approximately slightly past 8 when I look at the clock. If we leave now, we will probably arrive at the train station closest to the zoo just about 10 minutes before the arrangement.
I make sure that the gas tap, refrigerator, and so forth are turned off or closed one last time, leave the house, and lock the door. And then
“”We are off””
both of us said to the empty house and started walking towards the train station. I cannot wait to go to the zoo.

“Ah, Yae. Not there please”
“Nope”
“……it is my lost huh”
The two of them were not there yet when we arrived. So the two of us were playing Othello since we had some free time. It resulted in my crushing defeat. All the corners were taken, and I was left with a massive difference between us.
“You’re weak as usual”
“I cannot say anything since it is exactly as you say, albeit mean……”
As I am feeling down from her harsh words, loads of people exited from the direction of the train station. I think most of these people have their eyes on the zoo, so it looks like it will be crowded today.
“Oーi! Kazunariー!”
“Yae-chaーn!”
As we are staring at the stream of people, there are voices calling us from over there. The ones who pushed their way through were Renya and Nishikida-san, whom we are waiting for.
“Sorry to keep you waiting!”
“Don’t worry, it is still before the arranged time after all”
“We barely made it in time because Renya-kun forgot his smartphone and we went back to take it, you know?”
“Er, I’m really sorry”
I see; the reliable Nishikida-san barely made it in time because she was accompanying Renya huh. And then I don’t know whether I should say Renya is hasty, or careless as usual……
Or rather, both of them came together normally huh. I do not know who was the one who invited the other, but they have a good vibe going, don’t they.
“Alright, let’s quickly get going then!”
“Wait up”
Renya starts running right after saying, and Nishikida-san goes after him. I am sure Nishikida-san will bring Renya back, or they will wait for us, so Yae and I are strolling.
“That’s right, Yae. I was thinking of separating from those two and going to do our own thing at some point in time, what do you think?”
“Nn, I agree”
“I wonder when we should split up from them. It would be meaningless for the four of us to come together if we split up from the beginning”
“Together in the morning together, and split up in the afternoon?”
“That is the most sensible huh. All that is left is how to separate from them though……”
I take the opportunity while the two of them are not around to discuss with Yae our scheme, no, our assistance. Although it is not a secret operation, thinking about these kinds of things is fun huh.
