Lei’s Perspective
“Haa, haa……it’s finally the next door huh”
“Yeah. But this atmosphere is……”
I nod at Alexia’s words. We don’t know how long has passed since we parted ways with Shishou, but Alexia and I proceeded down the path that goes on endlessly.
We arrived all the way to this door without anything particularly happening on the way, but there’s a repulsive air of intimidation emitting from the other side of this door. When I feel this, it’s as though I’m voluntarily making my way into a carnivore that has its mouth opened.
But, it’s the destination of the objective as well. I suppose there’s the Demon God on the other side of this door.
“Are you alright, Alexia?”
I look at Alexia, who’s looking slightly in pain from standing in front of this door. That’s inevitable as well. This air of intimidation, it’s close to the time when I took out the key I received from Goddess Astell in front of everybody.
It was emitting a divine air of intimidation back then, but from the other side of the door before our eyes, a mucky and gummy repulsive air of intimidation is being emitted.
Hit by that air of intimidation, Alexia is holding onto her chest in pain. I grab Alexia’s hand and check out her complexion. As I thought, her complexion is slightly pale.
“Alexia. It’s better if you don’t proceed any further. Any further is……”
“No, I’m going. I don’t want to be the only one shaking and running away, when everybody is fighting”
“Alexia……”
I want to respect Alexia’s opinion. However, at this rate, she probably can’t even hope to enter the room. At that moment
“Aruji-sama. I will protect her”
, Maririn appears before my eyes and says to me. ‘Protect’, how?
“If I form a contract with her, I can protect her from this air of intimidation”
“Which means”
“Eeh, I have to sever the contract with Aruji-sama”
“No-, no way! You don’t have to do something like that! There’s no need to do something like that for my sake……”
“Got it. Let’s do it, Maririn”
“Fufu, that’s what I thought Aruji-sama would say”
Maririn says, smiles, and takes my hand. It has been almost 5 years since I met Maririn huh. I sure was helped by her in various ways. But, it’s not like it’s farewell with this.
Even if her connection with me disappears, it’s the same as we’re connected if Alexia acts as the medium. Maririn can show herself as well, so one can say that the contractor simply changes from me to Alexia, and nothing else besides that changes. It appears that she’ll be unable to form a contract with me again though.
“……okay. The contract is cancelled with this. Now then, you’re up next. What are you going to do?”
“……I’ll do it. There’s no way I can run away, when you guys already went that far. Lei, we’re going to have a talk after the fight is over!”
“No, that’s a little ……”
“Got it!?”
“Yes, understood”
She ended up getting angry at me tremendously menacingly. There’s going to be trouble even after this is over huh. After having a distant look, imagining what’s going to happen in the future, Alexia and Maririn’s contract seemed to be done. Maririn’s breasts feel like they’ve somewhat gotten bigger; is it my imagination?
“How is it, Alexia?”
“……uh-huh. I’m fine. There’s a sensation like I’m being enveloped by something warm”
Alexia looks at her hands and body and nods, saying that she’s alright. She’s probably alright since her complexion has also returned to how it originally was.
“Now then, Alexia. We’re even more clueless about what’s going to happen from here on out. Are you ready?”
“What are you on about at this point in time. I’ve long been ready”
Alexia stands dignifiedly and smiles over at me. Haha, what a strong person she is.
“Well then, let’s go, shall we”
“Eeh!”
I, open the door before our eyes. When I open the door, the air of intimidation, which had been suppressed by the door, blows fiercely all at once. It was like a hurricane.
When I turn to Alexia, Alexia seems to be alright as well. It’s thanks to Maririn huh. I carry on proceeding forward.
“It’s just like a throne huh”
When we enter the room and survey the vicinity, Alexia mutters softly. I thought so too. A crimson red carpet stretches in a straight line from the door.
It’s a staircase on the other side of that red carpet, and at the very top of that, there’s a grandiose chair. And then over there seats a single man, and beside him is a man who stands respectfully.
When we went inside completely, the door went, ‘Bang!‘ and ended up being shut. And then jet-black vines cling to the door, making it unopenable.
“Here you are, Goddess’ Apostle. Looks like there’s also a freebie, but well, welcome”
And then, the man’s voice is audible from the throne. His appearance is the possessed Kaitou Takumi as it is, but his hair and eye colour have changed. His hair colour is silver, the same as a Demon Race, and his eye colour has become jet-black like they’re painted over entirely. It’s as though they’re empty holes that don’t reflect light.
We ready our weapons without letting our guard down and look at the Baron, but he’s smirking with an elbow on his throne.
“Kukuku, Goddess Astell. I wonder if you’re watching? I’m going to murder your precious Apostle from now on. After I resurrect, it’ll be the last of you too. Just you sit tight and wait! Azel, you take on the woman. I’ll murder the Apostle”
“Yes”
Azel who bows respectfully at Baron’s words. And then, ‘thump‘, he jumps over to a spot that’s more or less between Baron and us.
Baron is still sitting on his throne even now, but the pressure emitted from him increased.
“Alexia, don’t you die no matter what”
“Of course. Lei, you be careful too”
Alexia and I smile at each other. Fuu, this is the final battle.
“Here I go, Demon God Baron!”
