About The Eye
After the fuss in the morning, I brought Alexia, Caro, along with Marin-san, and showed up at the conference venue.
Marin-san, because the matter of her eyes had been made known yesterday, she’s walking with her hood already down. She’s walking proudly without shrinking from the eyes around. She sure is a strong person.
Caro, she’s walking with her mask on, but I suppose she’s bothered by the eyes around, she’s squeezing my sleeve with her fingers. Alexia also checks on Caro worryingly from time to time.
I brought the two of them and went to the same conference venue as yesterday, and inside, the rulers of the respective countries were already waiting. Everybody’s eyes, of course, head to Marin-san. No, the Pope alone was looking at me seriously. I nod, and the Pope nods as well.
The experiment yesterday was a success. I found out that my theory is by no means off the mark either after all.
“Lei. The fact that you brought her over means……”
“Yes. I am thinking of having a discussion regarding her eyes first before our discussion. And then regarding the curse of this continent as well”
I respond to His Majesty Raymond’s words with my own. The one who confronted me on that was, of course,
“Leivelt-dono! Why did you bring a curse bearer over to this conference venue! What are you going to do if something happens to the rulers of the respective countries!”
the Elf man of Forest Falia, Lot, was it. He shouts. Yesterday, I had informed Queen Titania up front to bring him to this conference venue as well today.
Queen Titania, she came seeking permission to use the Teleportation Circle for the sake of returning Lot, who caused trouble, back to their own country though.
“About that, it is alright. There is no such thing as a curse after all”
“On what basis are you able to say something like that! Are you not just saying that because you want to protect that woman!”
“You’re going too far, Lot. Understand where you’re at!”
Perhaps he had an emotional outburst, Lot yells angrily at me. I suppose even Queen Titania couldn’t stand by and watch any longer, she gives him a warning. Well, it does feel like he’s going a bit too far at this place where the rulers of the respective countries are, but well, that’s fine for now.
“It is okay, Queen Titania. If I’m not wrong, Lot-dono, was it. Including that, I would like to talk about heterochromia”
When I say that, Lot backed down quietly. I take a look around the rulers of the respective countries and make sure that everybody is focusing on me.
“First thing first, let’s have you take a look at her. She is Caroline・Arcadia. The First Princess of Arcadia State and my fiancee. Caro, can you do it?”
“……eeh, no problem. It’s just that, will you hold my hand?”
“Aah”
Caro answers me bravely despite trembling. I squeeze Caro’s left hand as she requested. When Caro feels my warmth in her left hand, she takes a deep breath, places her right hand on her mask, and removes it.
Caro has her eyes closed and slowly opens her eyelids. Excluding the Pope, the rulers of the respective countries who saw that raised a voice of astonishment. Her right eye is the same blue colour as the Pope, but her left eye is shining in a solemn gold.
I suppose the ones who know she has heterochromia is pretty much just the Pope and my family. Everybody else hasn’t the slightest clue.
“To think that Lady Caroline actually has heterochromia……”
Even His Highness Raymond and such whose fellow countries are intimate are surprised.
“She has heterochromia as you can see. However, she is not cursed”
“What do you mean by that, Leivelt-dono?”
“Yes. I had my suspicions about this ‘curse’ that stems from heterochromia in the first place. Why are those who possess heterochromia said to be cursed. There wasn’t any particular reason written even when I look at the books of the past; they were just, left behind as a folklore”
Perhaps the rulers of the respective countries also know about this, they nod.
After the incident that became the reason Marin-san resigned, I had them let me take a look at the Royal Capital’s library and the Royal Palace’s archives and investigate, and although I found books that have the folklore saying that those with heterochromia bear a curse, I couldn’t find any books that have why is it that they bear a curse written.
“I encountered her at a time like that. She, too, was brooding over her heterochromia like Marin-san. It’s just that, the one thing that’s different from Marin-san was that, that eye of hers had an ability”
“An ability?”
Emperor Rozbell reacts to my words. It’s Emperor-like for him to react at the ability’s part, but I’ll ignore it for now for the sake of moving forward with the conversation. When I look in Caro’s direction and confirm with her with my eyes, Caro nods at me as well. And then Caro
“The power of this eye that shines gold is called『God Eye』. It is a blessing I received from Goddess Astell”
She explains by herself. As well as that outlandish ability of God Eye. Naturally, the rulers end up stunned. I suppose that’s inevitable as well. They were thinking that Caro was cursed as well until just now, but suppose the reason for that was on Goddess Astell.
“I heard her ability and came up with a single hypothesis. I merely thought of it as a possibility at that time, but it turned into pretty much a certainty just recently”
I pour my Magic Power in while pointing at my right eye over there. The rulers are naturally focusing on my fingertip, and they make an increasingly surprised expression. Caro and Marin-san were surprised by this as well.
Marin-san aside, did I not talk about it to Caro? ……uーn, it feels like I didn’t. Well, I guess I’ll talk about it later.
“I suppose my right eye has probably changed its colour to purple. This eye is called the Eye Of Clairvoyance. It is able to foresee a few seconds into the future. This is also something I received from Goddess Astell”
“Lei. When did you get something like that……”
Sieg looks at my eye and is lost for words. Oou, I didn’t think he’d be that surprised. But, I guess he’s going to be surprised if his own son has heterochromia. Well, for mine, the colour isn’t constantly different, so it’s still better than the other two though.
“Caro and I. Taking the situation of the two of us into consideration, I talked to Marin-san yesterday and had her pour Magic Power into her eye. As a result of that, I understood the fact that her red left eye has an ability”
Marin-san wriggles in embarrassment at my words. I suppose she’s thinking back on what happened yesterday. That got me panicking as well. I never would’ve thought that it was actually such an ability after all.
“That ability is……”
