“……this place……is?”
When I wake up, over there was a place that’s pitch black all around. I can’t tell up from down, left from right; I don’t even know whether I’m standing upright, upside-down, or lying down.
However, it’s a place I recognise. There’s no way I’ll forget. I mean, this place is…….
“You’re awake huh”
The voice of a beautiful woman was audible. When I turn towards the voice, a beautiful woman was standing there as always.
“It has been a while huh, Goddess Astell”
“Eeh. It’s been a while. Leivelt・Runwalker-san. The last time we met was, when you first fought a Demon General huh”
Goddess Astell, who looks at my face(I don’t know whether or not it’s there though) and smiles, ‘ufufu‘. But, the reason she called me here is.
“Muu, I think it’s fine even if we talk a little bit more though”
“But, you calling me here means there’s something, right?”
Goddess Astell, who read what’s inside of my heart, puffs up her cheeks going, ‘puu‘. When a person with beautiful sculpted features puffs up her cheeks, it’s tremendously adorable, but now is not the time for that. I want to quickly get into the main topic if possible.
“……it can’t be helped huh. Well then, I shall talk about the reason I summoned you. Or so I say, but you should have already realised”
“Is it the fellow who possessed Demon Sword-kun?”
Goddess Astell nods her head when I ask. As I thought huh. The Demon Sword-kun’s atmosphere changed entirely after that black mist-like thing possessed him. I suppose that was the reason.
“The Demon Sword-kun that you sayーーKaitou Takumi possessed my Blessing. I had given him『The One Who Endures』in his title. One which ability is to, simply put, capable of getting stronger just by sustaining”
……who would’ve thought that the Demon SwordーーKaitou was a Blessing Holder. Since there are 5 people in this world, he was the last person after Caro, Tigris, Kana and me huh.
Besides, he can become stronger just from sustaining huh. I don’t know the details, but I suppose it means sustaining the opponent’s attacks.
“Not just attacks, curses and so forth as well. However, that became resentment. Exactly as you’d nicknamed him, he possessed a Demon Sword. Originally, there should be abnormalities occurring to the body when one holds that. But, he was able to use it normally”
“Is the reason for that the Blessing?”
“Yes. He endured through something that one can’t normally endure thanks to the Blessing. Because of that, he ended up possessing the Demon Race’s power that would originally be impossible for a Human Race to possess”
It’s true that those who held the Demon Sword mutated and were in a senseless, rampaging state without exception. But, Kaitou was using it as a sword normally.
“So, what’s the fellow that possessed Kaitou’s body? It’d possessed a rather repulsive Magic Power”
“Yes. The one who possessed him was, the Demon God Baron that the Demon Generals have been trying to resurrect”
“……as I thought huh”
I had somewhat predicted it. When it comes to someone who possesses such a repulsive Magic Power and someone all the Seven Demon Generals bow their heads to, there’s probably only the Demon God.
“Eeh. But, he is not fully resurrected. The seals are still, not broken yet after all”
“Seals?”
“Yes. The five seals in this continent. The items that sealed Baron a long, long time ago have been left as they were”
The seals left in the continent huh. Then, what they’ll target next are
“It will probably be the removal of the seals. Demon God Baron will fully resurrect if the seals are removed. Lei-san. I have a request”
……I can tell even if she doesn’t say any further if I’m told this much. She probably wants me to protect the seals. Goddess Astell, who can read my heart, sees what I mutter in my heart and makes a face that’s on the verge of tears.
“……I understand that I am making just you push yourself. I am sorry”
“It is too late at this point, right. I might’ve said it previously, but I’m already wrapped up in it plenty. Besides, there’s no way I can let him destroy, the world that I live in now”
My resolve doesn’t change. Like I can stand to let my life from now on be destroyed by them. Perhaps Goddess Astell felt my resolve as well, her tears start falling. And then, after wiping that, she changed to a divine expression this time around.
“Well then, my Apostle, Leivelt・Runwalker-san. I will tell you the location of the seals. The locations are; the Divine Tree that’s in the Forest Falia Kingdom; Celia Kingdom’s Water Dragon Shrine; the giant gold mine in Ilnort Federation Republic; my temple that’s in Arcadia State. And then the last one is in Nanor Kingdom’s Demon’s Land”
All of them sure sound like important locations.
“Speaking of which, one of the Demon Generals, Azel, was saying that their final destination is the Demon’s Land; what’s there?”
“Demon God Baron’s actual body has been sealed there. Didn’t you find it strange? The fact that that’s the only plot of land where monsters overflow abnormally. The reason is the miasma that comes out from Demon God Baron’s actual body despite being sealed. Because of that, the monsters end up growing stronger”
To think that the cause for the Demon Land’s monsters was, such a reason. It’s true that I found it strange, but I had thought that that’s the kind of place it is.
“Leivelt・Runwalker-san. Please forgive me for entrusting the fate of this land in your hands. It does not serve as an apology, but I shall pass this to you”
A shiny thing flies over to me from the hand of Goddess Astell, who said that. I take a look when it settles in my hand and
“A key?”
“Yes. It is the key that opens a certain door. You will probably need it one day. The Dragon Rulers know the location of the door. But I suppose whether or not they’ll tell you will depend on you”
I don’t quite understand what it is, but I guess I’ll gratefully accept it. And then perhaps her business with me is finished, Goddess Astell’s body starts shining.
“I will probably not be able to show up for the foreseeable future. Please forgive the me, who cannot do anything but entrust things to you”
“What, we’ll protect the place we live by ourselves at least. It’ll be fine as long as Goddess Astell just pray for us to come out unscathed. As the Goddess of Victory”
When I say something cheesy like that, Goddess Astell goes, ‘puu‘, and bursts into laughter.
“I got it. I shall pray for everybody to win”
And then, my consciousness cut off with Goddess Astell’s smile being the last thing I see.
