“Wha~t. Aren’t we nobles of the same country. There’s no need to be so humble. Religas, arrange rooms for these people”

Baron Mangus was taken away by Religas, Grutas’ close aide. No, he’s no longer a Baron huh.
“Grutas-sama. Why did you shelter Baron Mangus, who is currently being pursued by the Kingdom?”
When I asked because I found it strange, Grutas looked in my direction and smirked.
“It’s because he’s a rare user of Dark Magic. I simply shelter him because I think he has some use. I can probably cut him off and hand him over to Raymond as well when it comes to the crunch. So how is it going inside the academy?”
“……yes. The people who obey my orders are gathering allies”
“I see. In that case, you’ll continue as it is. Kukuku, information that the preparations for the dispatching of soldiers on the Empire side are also in order came in. It’ll probably be at the beginning of the year if they’re going to invade the Runwalker March. We’ll also start moving at the same time as that. Until then, prepare yourself. ……I leave the room without changing my expression. I carry on to head towards a certain room. 2 soldiers were standing by the entrance and guarding strictly, but when I approached, the soldiers simply took a quick look, without paying any particular attention.
And when I enter the room, inside, there’s a woman who’s asleep on a bed and a maid who takes care of the things around that woman. This maid is the maid of Hahaue1, who’s asleep on the bed since before, and I brought her here.
“Ah, Tigris-sama, thank you for your hard work”
“Aah, thanks for your hard work, Martha. How’s Hahaue’s condition?”
“……she is bedridden with a persistent fever today as well”
Martha, who says and hangs her head. Hahaue suffered and collapsed from a sudden illness one day. Chichiue2 called in several doctors to have a look, but each and every one of the doctor said they don’t know what’s wrong and threw in the towel.
Afflicted by that cause-unknown illness, Hahaue’s condition worsened day by day one-sidedly. In the midst of that, Grutas came to us, who were at a loss.
Grutas is Chichiue’s cousin. It’s because the previous King, the Chichiue of His Majesty Raymond, the current King, and Grutas are brothers with my grandfather. However, latterly, we have pretty much no interaction.
It’s said that it’s to treat Hahaue that such Grutas showed up at this time of all time. I should’ve realised at this point in time, but we’d probably already been set up from this point in time.
From the treatment of the Magician that Grutas brought along, the man called Einz, Hahaue’s condition has improved in comparison to before, but now, there’s only this man who can treat her.
Chichiue is obeying Grutas because of that. It’s because the condition to receive Einz’ treatment, is to listen to Grutas’ orders.
Under normal circumstances, I have to talk about this matter to His Majesty Raymond immediately. Since the orders given by this man, will develop into an incident that’ll sway this country. ……however, neither Chichiue nor I, could watch Hahaue die without doing anything. I guess we’re disqualified as nobles.
“……Tigris-sama, are you alright?”
As I’m hanging my head, Martha peeks at my face worryingly. She doesn’t know anything. I can’t implicate her, who came all this way for Hahaue’s sake.
“I’m just slightly exhausted. Well then, I’ll leave Hahaue’s matters to you”
“Yes, please count on me”
I leave the room as it is. ……if I can just find a means to treat Hahaue, I won’t have to listen to the orders of a man like that. In the worst-case scenario, I’ll kill that man even if it costs me my life. It’s the responsibility of I, who brought about this situation. I returned to my room while thinking of such things.

Eclat, who frolics at the scenery that’s visible from the carriage’s window. I wonder if she’s delighted at the scenery that’s different from usual?
“Wawa! It’s no good to get unruly, Eclat-chan!”
It looks like Mei-chan, who carries Eclat, is having a hard time as well. I guess the Royal Capital’s scenery that’s visible from the window is rare as well. I shall let them have fun for now.
It has been 2 weeks since we left the Baron Mangus Territory. After Alexia returned, the magistrate came as arranged, and we departed after Benton-san the Chamberlain see through the takeover.
The ones who came along at that time were, Viscount Kennus, who’s being summoned to the Royal Capital; Alma, who’s in love with Dargris; the Madam and her daughter who were banished from the Baron Territory.
As for the women whom we saved from the bandits, they’re either remaining in the Baron Territory and starting a new life, or they’re remaining in the Duke Territory in order to look for work. A few of the women have gotten on good terms with the soldiers so I think it’s great.
It seems the King is making arrangements so that the Madam and the others can live in secret. This, is something I heard from the magistrate who came afterwards though.
Well, it’s because the fault is entirely on the Baron this time around. The Madam was bedridden because of her illness and wasn’t involved after all. He has to sentence her for the public appearance after all, and it’s also the King’s concern that even if they remain in the territory as it is, there will probably be no good that comes out of it.
It seems Benton-san will also chase after the Madam after the magistrate’s take over is finished. The Madam looked happy about it as well so I guess this is fine.
We left the Baron Territory with such things happening as well. We advance smoothly without even getting attacked by goblins these 2 weeks and we’re finally at a distance in which the Royal Capital is visible since just now. ……I don’t want to see goblins for a good while.
Viscount Kennus prepared a slightly larger carriage for 8 people to ride in, and Mei-chan; Eclat, who’s carried by Mei-chan; Alexia; Helen; Aerith; Ferris; Priscilla; Roy; and I are sitting in the carriage.
When we’re getting onto the carriage, there’s a dispute on who will sit beside me, but I instructed Mei-chan and Roy to sit beside me. Everybody was grumbling angrily, but if they’re going to quarrel whenever we get onto a carriage then this is probably better. We’ll be together in the cramped carriage in the end after all. I was scolded that I don’t understand a woman’s heart when I said that to the ladies though.
Priscilla; Mei-chan; Roy; and Eclat who are here at the Royal Capital for the first time, are frolicking quite a bit. ……Eclat, you’re going to fall from the window if you frolic that much.
An incident in which Mei-chan grabbed Eclat, who almost fell from the window, and almost fell from the window herself occurred, but we arrived at the Royal Palace safely.
According to Alexia, it seems we’re told to go to the Royal Castle as it is upon returning. Perhaps the soldiers had also heard about that, after exchanging a word or two with the Driver, they let us pass through smoothly. Well, we’d shown a pass-like thing though.
“……isn’t the state of the surroundings, somewhat strange?”
We were told to close the carriage’s windows by the soldiers for some reason when we enter the Royal Castle, and we carry on being shaken in the carriage. I’ve come by carriage before, but I was never once told something like so I found it suspicious.
“Ara, is that so?”
However, Alexia and the others are behaving normally without being particularly bothered by it. No, they’re slightly laughing so I guess they know the situation?
Furthermore, we should’ve normally already arrived and stopped, and yet the carriage is still moving.
“Kyuruu~”
Eclat is slightly displeased because the scenery that’s visible from the window is being covered. Perhaps Priscilla and the others are also finding it strange, they’re tilting their heads.
The carriage shakes for a few minutes after that as well. Just as I started finding it seriously strange and thought of alighting the carriage, the carriage finally stopped. It was then opened from the outside, and I was urged by the soldiers to alight.
“Hey, we’re alighting”
Alexia holds my hand and alights with me while smiling and over there is…….
