The Story Of A Certain Adventurer Second (2)
“This here is the dungeon of this town huh”
We crossed the town’s street that’s lined with houses and such and arrived at the entrance of the dungeon. Around us are Adventurers that are about to enter the dungeon, like us, and in their respective groups, they’re gathering and talking to each other or entering the dungeon.
“There’s quite the number of Adventurers. That’s how profitable it is huh”
“Yeah. According to what I heard, it seems that even ordinary zombies drop Magic Stones of high purity”
Eira and Regan, the married couple, converses. Zombies aren’t that strong. Adventurers are going to gather since they can turn a profit just by defeating them .
We follow suit and enter the dungeon as well. It seems the dungeon is underground, so we go down the stairs.
What appeared before our eyes when we reached the bottom of the stairs was a dim space with lots of rocks. It’s bright enough that a lantern isn’t necessary, but the surroundings aren’t very perceptible. And it’s quite spacious.
“This is troublesome. I’m thankful that there are lots of places to hide, but I can’t let my guard down since I don’t know where the monsters will emerge from either”
Sylphe sees this rocky area and frowns. It’s true that this rocky area makes it easy for surprise attacks. What we have to be wary of is not just monsters, but of robbers that appear at places like these as well.
“In any case, let’s try moving forward, shall we. We’ll go with the usual arrangement; Regan at the front, Eira, Legins and Sylphe behind him, and I’m the rearguard. Regan, we’ll be counting on you”
“I understand”
Regan brings out the axe he always carries on his back and moves forward while being wary of the surroundings. Eira is behind Regan using a Magic that searches for enemies, providing support for him.
Legins is in charge of recovery, and because we’re going up against dead spirit types this time, we decided to have him use Light Magic. As well as Protection Magic at places where the miasma is thick.
And then Sylphe, who readies her bow and keeps an eye on her surroundings in front of me. I’m keeping an eye out for surprise attacks from the back while gripping my spear. This is our usual formation.
“Muu, two zombies!”
After walking while being wary of the surroundings for a short while, Regan raises his voice. I looked in the direction we’re advancing, and exactly as Regan said, two zombies were walking over.
Their appearances are rather grotesque, but they’re no different from the zombies that we’ve seen thus far. I guess they’re slightly quicker than ordinary zombies, but that’s about it. The zombies, that found their preys, close in on us while groaning, but Regan steps forward a step ahead of them.
He thrusts his axe towards the zombie on the left side and sends it flying, and carries on to swing his axe horizontally at the legs of the zombie on the right side. Both of the zombie’s legs were chopped off easily, and the zombie collapses at that spot. Regan’s axe aimed at and was swung down at its head.
The other zombie that was sent flying by the axe tried to stand up, but three arrows pierced its head, and it fell back as it is. It looks like Sylphe shot her arrows.
“How do you find it after fighting them, Regan?”
“In terms of the sensation, they’re no different from other zombies. I don’t know until I fight a bit more”
I guess that’s true huh. I nod at Regan’s words, and we start walking again. We walked for about 2 hours in the dungeon after that, but the monsters that appeared were 20 zombies, 14 skeletons, 5 wraiths, and 4 zombie dogs.
Regan and I defeated the zombies and skeletons, and because only Magic or weapons that are clad in Magic Power can defeat wraiths, we left them to Legins. One of the zombie dogs was defeated by Sylphe by a surprise attack, and while they’re confused, Regan and I each defeated one, and Eira defeated the remaining one with Magic.
Afterwards, we left the dungeon and gathered in the inn. We decided to discuss what we experienced at today’s dungeon. Well, it ended up being a conversation saying that the conclusion is that they’re no different from ordinary zombies though.
“Although people tend to avoid dungeons where dead spirit types appear, I can understand why everybody is going in swarms if it’s this profitable”
“That is true. It’s still the first floor, but be that as it may, we’re able to make a profit with pretty much no danger”
“I was thinking about going beyond the second floor as well tomorrow, what does everybody think?”
“I think it’s a good idea. Although we came because we heard the matters beyond the second floor, it seems there’s no immediate change before that”
“In this case, I can do it even while drinking……”
“”””No (pe) (you cannot) (can’t)!!””””
“I’m, I’m kidding. Don’t get so angry”
Everybody yelled at Legins, who suddenly said something stupid. As one would expect, that’s overly underestimating the dungeon. Good grief, this fellow. He does his part properly when it comes down to it though.
I looked at Legins, who was scolded by Eira and Sylphe, and thought.

“Well, a place like this popped up in the short time I haven’t been back huh. Is this due to my influence?”
“I’ve heard about something like that from Darx-dono previously, Master. That the Magic Power Master released became miasma and contaminated this land. I suppose the miasma, as a result of being sealed in, had nowhere to go and became a dungeon”
Liscia, who’s beside me wearing a mantle, says to me. Heh, there’s something like that floating about huh. Mylene says, ‘As one would expect’, to me on the other side. I just let my anger take over and let out Magic Power at that time, so it just happened by chance though.
“But, I’m glad. It appears that this village……it’s a town now huh. I was considering whether I should make Okaa-san’s grave in this town, but I’ll have them let me use this dungeon. Dragging the residents of this town in, that is”
I take out a certain bone from the Item Bag that I received from Chrono while saying. I pour Magic Power into that and resurrect it.
“Gigi……GAaaaAAAhh!!”
“Now then, I’ll have you become the boss of this dungeon. Furthermore, a boss that moves around freely”
It’s starting to become fun!
